Northrop Grumman’s Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Mission Architect to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.You will be responsible for:Supporting on-orbit-test, test scenario planning, and operations throughout all planning, execution, and debrief phasesProviding Space Operations expertise to ensure spacecraft/payload and ground system health, status, anomaly troubleshooting, and anomaly-resolutionCreating and/or providing initial and post-maneuver orbit determinationThe development and improvement of on-orbit system-test proceduresPerforming demonstrations and conducting briefings explaining test procedures and processesProviding on-consol operational support and aiding in the investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system signaturesBasic Qualifications:Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM Degree with 9 years’ experience in a related engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace and/or operationsMust have U.S. Citizenship with active or current Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI EligibilityStrong technical background in orbital mechanics/astrodynamicsKnowledge and experience in satellite operations engineering disciplines to include attitude control, power management, thermal control, propulsion, command and data handling, flight and ground software, and anomaly determination and resolutionExperience with developing and presenting briefing slides to senior leaders and executive level personnelAbility to troubleshoot and correct problems in a dynamic environmentExperience in RPO mission design and satellite ground softwareRapid response mission experience with small satellite manufacturersPreferred Qualifications:Have an extensive knowledge of different astrodynamic coordinate frames such as ECI and RICExperience with optimization techniques and their application for trajectory optimization and/or multi-objective optimizationPrior aerospace-related work experience for a U.S Government Agency or ContractorBackground/fundamental understanding of performing statistical analysis
