PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION :

The Production Planner is responsible for production planning using all available scheduling tools and resources to most efficiently utilize multiple plant resources. The Production Planner will coordinate the release of orders based on resources and inventory to optimize short and long range production plans and reschedules that result in providing World Class service to our customers.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

•Schedule shop orders based on customer demand and internal capacity.

•Release orders based on material availability production availability and customer requirements.

•Interface with Production/Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing, Program Management and Engineering to align build strategy and to assure tactical execution.

•Resolve problems/conflicts that may prevent achieving customer requested delivery dates.

•Assure all aspects of shop orders are planned completely and orders are released to the floor timely. Shop floor planning and execution.

•Support the Master Scheduler with the sizing and scheduling of new orders.

•As assigned by the Master Scheduler, review scheduling and re-scheduling requests for existing orders. Analyze the bill of material and production requirements to determine Libra's ability to achieve the requested delivery date. Communicate changes to customer orders to appropriate teams. Coordinate inputs from these teams for rescheduling of purchase orders to determine new start dates for Shop Orders.

•Maintain Capacity resources in Shop floor control to drive accurate demand planning and scheduling. Work closely with Human Resources and Master Scheduler to assure that systems are kept current (weekly) reflection actual manned equipment capacity.

•Maintain and update Finite Capacity scheduling System to effectively schedule shop floor activities.

•Work with Master Scheduling and others to assure that shop order start dates and due dates are always synchronized yielding optimum planning and order execution.

•Work with Production Supervisors, support Production manager with priority, capacity and resource management.

•Maintain shop floor tracking system for shop order and kit management and collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure steady and timely flow of kits to shop floor.

•Use a proactive approach to monitor key Performance Indicators as established by Manufacturing Management. Track daily performance and provide feedback to drive improvements where possible.

•Others duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•Associate's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Accounting, operations or similar, with work experience.

•Experience in a production environment involving material planning, production planning and/or master scheduling, and analysis with an MRP based systems.

•Project management and root cause/corrective action skills.

•Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other related business tools.

•Proficient with an MRP based system: data entry, interpreting data and an understanding of basic operation and interdependencies.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

•Achievements of Certified Production and Inventory Manager from APICS.

•Mechanical experience in mechanical production environment.

•Six sigma and lean practices a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

•This positon will work in both front and shop environments.

•In the shop, you will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight.

•You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
