Apply today for our Oncology Registered Nurse opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
This is a full-time, day shift (7am-7pm) position on our state-of-the-art, 30 bed 4th Floor Medical Oncology unit offering specialized care for our patients with a diagnosis of cancer.
What you will do in this role:
You will maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patientsYou will manage efficient flow of patient care including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care and comfort, and arranging for admissions, testing and dischargesYou will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination resultsYou will administer medicationsin accordance withphysician ordersYou will instruct patients and familiesregardingmedications and treatmentplansYou will respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)
What qualifications you may need:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is requiredMust be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN licenseA current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
