What You'll Do
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work directly with Engineering Managers and collaborate closely with the UX and UI design teams to produce seamless, robust, and innovative front-end user experiences.
  • Dynamic Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, addressing their needs and requirements with agility and creativity.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in Shopify, specializing in all facets of the platform, and be on the front lines of building custom-tailored Shopify themes, altering pre-existing templates, and creating complex custom solutions.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients in a professional, client-facing capacity, ensuring excellent communication and relationship management.
  • Solution Creation: Create compelling solutions and functionality that inspire users and meet business goals, staying current on Shopify API changes and adequately utilizing them in your work.
  • Internal Consultation: Understand business needs that drive project features & functions and provide valuable internal consultation to enhance our offerings.

Requirements
  • Shopify Plus experience required.
  • Shopify Certification(s) for Headless &/or Liquid Developers.
  • Expert in Shopify Liquid template language.
  • Expert in Shopify APIs and their usage.
  • REST API working knowledge.
  • GraphQL expertise.
  • Working knowledge in Custom Shopify APP development.
  • Experience in Shopify Theme development.
  • Proven knowledge of Admin API and Storefront API.
  • Background in Product modeling and configuration via Shopify Admin.
  • Understanding of Product, Discount, Inventory, Fulfillment, Order APIs, and customizations using the APIs.
  • Awareness of the Marketing Events, Discounts, Gift Cards, and their configurations in Shopify.
  • Experience with Shopify instance management and configuration.
  • Knowledge in data migration and synchronization between Shopify instances.
  • Experience with code version/branching tools like Git/SVN.
  • Prior experience with product/Customer/Order import Export management.
  • Experience integrating with backend systems such as ERPs, WMS, OMS, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of performance improvement best practices.
  • Experience architecting, building, and deploying Shopify Custom Apps and Checkout/Account Extensions.
  • Experience with Ruby programming language.
  • Prior experience with the Shopify Dawn theme.
  • Prior headless commerce experience.
  • Strong client-facing skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of ecommerce web development experience.
  • 3 or more Shopify Plus project implementation experience.
  • Experience/knowledge of steps involved in migrating an existing commerce site running on a different platform to Shopify Platform (e.g., Magento or Salesforce to Shopify).
  • Comfortable researching and adopting new web technologies.
  • Familiar with SEO/SEM best practices.
  • Prior experience with React/Node/NoSQL stacks is nice to have.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are versatile and have experience with:
    • Other commerce platforms: Specifically, Adobe Commerce &/or commercetools
    • PIM platforms: Specifically, Akeneo, Salsify &/or Stibo

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the pay range is $80/HR to $90/HR. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
