PROJECT LEAD

We currently have an opportunity for an IT Project Lead in Saint John, N.B.

Position Overview: As a Project Lead, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of technology enabled business solutions for the J.D. Irving, Limited group of companies. In this role, you will provide strong leadership in a dynamic and fast paced work environment towards enabling the growth and improvement of the businesses.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Lead the delivery of information technology projects into the J.D. Irving businesses through all stages of the project lifecycle from original concept to implementation
  • Manage communications related to the project at all levels of the organization and across businesses; including executive levels
  • Proactively engage in coaching and mentoring of project team members to help staff reach optimal level of performance and foster a working environment open to new ideas and innovative solutions
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure client success
  • Responsible for the management of project scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, risk and quality management
  • Monitoring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables
  • Communicating with customers to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any issues or concerns.
  • Communicating the value of IT initiatives and achievements to the organization's leadership and stakeholders.
  • Providing guidance and support to customers in using the company product and services effectively.


Position Requirements, Education and Experience:
  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering, MBA preferred
  • Years of Experience Required: 3-5+ years of project management with IT experience and demonstrated career progression
  • Excellent leadership, people and process management skills with proven success in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to organize, analyze, interpret and evaluate problems and provide solutions with the right sense of urgency
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously


Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Lean Six Sigma experience would be considered an asset
  • Prosci certification would be considered an asset
  • Agile Project Management Certification would be considered an asset
