The Department of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a full-time position as Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Engineering or Computer Science. This position involves instructing undergraduates in engineering and computer science courses, maintaining an active research program, and participating in undergraduate mentoring and advising. Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and the potential to develop an externally funded research program. Teaching load of 24 units per academic year is required. The faculty will be working under the general direction of the Chair of the Department Engineering and Computer Science. Position is subject to final funding.Desired Specializations in One or More of the Following Areas (others considered):

Cybersecurity, robotics, machine learning, bioinformatics, large-scale networking, game design, human-machine interface, green energy, advanced semiconductor, industrial automation, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.Responsibilities:

Prepare and teach CS/CIS/ENGR courses up to 12 units per semesterParticipate in mentoring and academic advising of undergraduate studentsParticipate in department and university affairsPerform other duties as assigned by the Department ChairIntegrate Christian faith in all aspects of instruction.Level:

An earned Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineeringA commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate programsDesire to be available on campus to mentor undergraduate students in their coursework and researchA commitment to teaching excellence in an undergraduate, liberal arts programA demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University (Faculty members are required to sign a “Statement of Faith”)Experience:

Evidence of teaching excellence is desiredPrior experience mentoring undergraduate students in technical projects and research desiredPrior experience in socially-responsible and meaningful projects desiredPrior experience in integration of faith with the discipline is preferredWorkload:

Full-time faculty position teaching 24 units per academic year; advising and other departmental responsibilities determined by the Department Chair. This is a one-year, non-renewable position.Hire Date:

$66,560 to $125,460 is the annual salary for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package. Compensation will be based on experience, rank, and qualifications.Additional Information:
