The Department of Surgery at ChristianaCare in Newark, Delaware, is looking for an experienced, dynamic Chief of Transplant Surgery.
The ideal candidate will join an established renal transplant program and have a proven track record in all aspects of the renal transplantation process, including significant laparoscopic donor experience, while playing an integral role in the continued growth of the program. Fellowship training in an ASTS accredited abdominal transplantation program and board certification in general surgery or urology are required. Additional surgical skills and interests in areas outside of transplantation are desirable. Opportunities to participate in the training of surgical residents and clinical research are available.
Preferred candidates should have experience in leadership, program building, and quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) while working as a member of a traditional transplantation multidisciplinary team.
ChristianaCare is a non-profit healthcare organization with over 1,200 beds between its three hospitals, serves as the tertiary referral center for the state of Delaware, and is regularly recognized as, "One of America's Best Hospitals," by U.S. News & World Report. The transplant program, located at the Newark, DE campus, is the only adult transplant program between Philadelphia and Baltimore, with a wide catchment area that draws from PA, NJ, MD, and DE.
