The NISC IV program is seeking a proficient Speechwriter/Sr Communication Specialist that can support our valued customer at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Use your excellent communications skills, strong interpersonal skills (both oral & written) to thrive in a team-oriented atmosphere, in which you will draft speeches, talking points, perform research, respond to media inquiries, track mentions in the mass-media, advise the management team in acting in cases of communication crisis and foster in departmental brand awareness.

Pay Range: Pay Range $98,150.00 - $177,425.00

Primary Responsibilities:
- Proactively research and prepare speeches, talking points and briefing packages for FAA executives.
- Preserve and protect all confidences and privileged communications.
- Develop and prepare presentations, brochures, hand-outs, and other informative materials in various mediums.
- Conduct briefings and develop quick turn briefing materials on project information for FAA senior executives.
- Lead the execution of executive and departmental events, including developing run of show schedules
- Apply knowledge of best practices to ensure efficient use of communications distribution channels.
- Recognize and identify what internal information can be disseminated and to whom.
- Assist in preparing meeting agendas.
- Prior experience developing speeches and talking points for executives or government officials.
- MS Office Suite expertise
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations, and at least 12 years of relevant experience
- Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills while thriving in deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to efficiently plan, provide for contingencies, balance competing demands, adapt to change, and remain focused to deliver results.
