Thomas J. Henry Law is seeking a Director of Human Resources (DHR) to provide leadership and guidance to our robust Human Resources department. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for leading the Firm's Human Resources Departments across five cities and will oversee the following departments: Payroll, Benefits Administration, Training & Development, Employee Concerns/Complaints, and Internal Recruiting. Reporting to senior attorney management and/or Owner of the Law Firm, this individual will also lead the Human Resources team and provide strategic and effective guidance, mentorship, and coaching to all team members.

Job Description:
  • Oversees the Firm's salary, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Manages new employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Maintains regular communication with employees to include employee counseling as directed by Firm Management.
  • Oversees the Human Resources Department in conducting post new hire check-ins and updates as well as employee exit interviews.
  • Coordinates communications with Texas Workforce Commission as well as managing all labor relations activities in coordination with the General Counsel.
  • Coordinates and monitors yearly performance evaluations Firm-wide and works with Firm Management on merit increases.
  • Ensures compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
  • Oversees Human Resources Department management of FLMA and LOA paperwork and administration.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the Firm's culture and overall objectives.
  • Responsible for reporting on metrics of the department and ensure compliance.


Thomas J. Henry Law is looking for a Director of Human Resources who understands the strategic value Human Resources has in achieving Firm goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will bring the right balance of leadership, collaboration, and expertise. Experience within Human Resources in law firms is preferred. General knowledge of employment law and practices in Texas is critical. Human Resource certifications preferred (CPLP, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP). This position is based in Texas.
