Commercial Business Analyst

The Commercial Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting both Domestic Sales and Road Service departments by providing insightful analysis, creating visual reporting tools, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a highly analytical individual with strong technical skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex findings to stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities

Domestic Sales:

  • Develop visual reporting tools using Tableau to effectively communicate insights to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis on customer usage, variations, billing, etc., to support decision-making processes.
  • Manage customer forecasting files and provide analysis on usage compared to forecast.
  • Collaborate on projects for new business opportunities by mining data, conducting analysis, and offering ongoing support.
  • Utilize SQL to extract and manipulate data, providing valuable insights to support business objectives.
  • Engage with customers to identify and solve issues, leveraging expertise on DCLI data and offering innovative solutions.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improving reporting processes and automation.


Road Service:

  • Manage master data, including editing and reviewing transactions for accuracy and completeness
  • Utilize Tableau to develop and update dashboard reporting as required.
  • Extract necessary information from various data sources to support road service operations.
  • Collaborate with road service team to define business needs and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Analyze data sets to identify patterns and trends, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accrual calculations and variance explanations.
  • Assist in providing analytical support to business partners and stakeholders and support of various ad hoc requests


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in business analysis, data analytics, or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in Tableau for developing visual reporting tools.
  • Experience working with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
