What we are looking for -

Aspiriant has identified an opportunity within a specific market segment that has proven potential for business growth. Aspiriant has a business plan to approach this segment and develop and maintain long lasting client relationships. The business plan and client relationships are already developed in Southern California. In this mid-level position, the Manager will be directly responsible for implementing the business plan and results within the market in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are looking for a manager level individual who is a team player, communicates effectively, is outgoing and personable, enjoys networking and business development activities, and is highly motivated by results. The position requires extensive in-person contact with clients, prospects, and centers of influence. It requires regular attendance at events at various times and locations within the Bay area, as well as occasional events outside the Bay Area.

You will -

Segment Marketing:
  • Develop a knowledge of the market, business plan and opportunity, and Aspiriant's competitive advantages within the marketplace
  • Manage and implement the business plan, which includes attending a schedule of regular activities focused on introducing Aspiriant and yourself to the target prospective clients, developing and maintaining relationships
  • Support the people and organizations with personal efforts, such as presentations to groups and other educational resources, as well as financial support, such as sponsorships of events and activities
  • Follow up with interested prospective clients in one-on-one or small group meetings to further develop and maintain relationships with target prospective clients and centers of influence
  • Onboard, manage, and service client relationships on an ongoing basis, while continuing to develop new ones


Wealth Management:
  • Develop and serve new wealth management client relationships
  • Manage and supervise (or self-prepare) meeting materials for use in personal financial planning engagements and ongoing wealth management work
  • Prepare investment policy statements, and other tools for use in wealth planning engagements
  • Prepare initial drafts of comprehensive meeting agendas and PowerPoint presentations
  • Participate in the development and execution of recommended strategies for clients
  • Review client tax returns and tax projections as needed, to gather relevant insights and/or to model complex transactions and provide tax planning strategies to clients
  • Draft summary emails following client meetings, clarifying understandings, and outlining steps for implementation
  • Manage meeting follow up, including coordination of internal and external (e.g., CPA, estate planner, insurance agent) resources; responsible for making sure everything is completed
  • Initiate and answer emails and phone calls (to/from clients and their other advisors) in a thorough and timely manner (within 24 hours) with prior consultation with a Wealth Management Director
  • Other duties as assigned


Administrative
  • Actively participate in weekly firm-wide and client-specific strategy meetings and continuing education discussions
  • Participate as an active member of internal committees and ad-hoc task forces
  • Participate in the continued growth planning and process engineering of Aspiriant, developing solutions to identified issues as well as proposing new ways of working efficiently and effectively
  • Other duties as assigned


We Want -
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Certified Financial Planner®, or equivalent designation required
  • Experience in comprehensive personal financial planning required (minimum five years' experience in financial planning and minimum two years actively managing client engagements)
  • Experience with managing investments, including portfolio design and execution, investment policy development, and diversification
  • Extensive knowledge of the widely used investment vehicles, such as mutual funds, ETFs, etc.
  • Must be extremely meticulous
  • OUTSTANDING written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for business development and advanced business development skills
  • An initiative-taker who takes answerability for his/her work
  • A partner who will thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to set priorities among a variety of tasks and an occasionally heavy volume of work
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
  • Excellent personal and professional references
