Job Description
Our client is a global investment bank with a significant presence in North America. They are looking to hire a Vice President to lead their Structured Finance Group. As a member of the Structured Finance team, you will manage key aspects of lending/credit for a wide range of credit relationships. You will lead the due diligence process, recommend deal structures to meet client needs and partner with the Relationship Team for the delivery and negotiation of the solution. You will complete the underwriting, approval and closing process, and respond to client needs pertaining to the management and administration of the lending solution. You will be responsible for active portfolio management, including review of information, engaging with the client to remain well-informed, communicating with key partners and responding to changing circumstances appropriately balancing client and bank's needs. You will develop and deliver insights on loan types and credit/performance trends in sectors/sub-sectors.
• Manages lending/credit aspects, specifically focused around structuring, underwriting, documentation and portfolio management for assigned client relationships.
• Understands changing risk profiles of clients, recommends and executes on steps based on changing circumstances.
• Interacts with clients independently to respond to ongoing needs and to gather information; enhances client relationships as key team member.
• Provides training to less experienced staff.
• Develops insights into loan types and sectors.

Job Complexity
• Performs due diligence and leads underwriting and documentation processes for all but the most complex situations, independently.
• Able to manage portfolio, including interactions with client, independently, while exercising proper judgment on when additional guidance and engagement of others is appropriate.
• Develops term sheets / deal structures and contributes to the delivery and negotiation process with the client.
• Engineers creative solutions to client needs.
• Provides guidance to less experienced staff members, enabling them to show improved efficiency and effectiveness.

Primary Duties:
• Conduct due diligence, engage with clients and colleagues on structuring and negotiating term sheets, lead underwriting and closing of deals (new and renewals) for clients and prospects.
• Manage assigned portfolio of borrowing relationships by reviewing information and engaging with clients to remain informed and to facilitate the on-going lending relationship.
• Communicating internally to recommend and execute on responses to changing circumstances within the portfolio of clients, and ensuring that portfolio management practices meet bank standards.
• Engaging in team development, including collaboration and coaching of Associates who support the team.
• Driving subject matter expertise within the team thru the innovation of loan type, business model analytics, and sector focused insights.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications/Licensing:
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Excellent credit analysis and portfolio management skills.
• Good negotiation skills, communication skills and ability to engage with clients effectively.
• Good knowledge and application of credit policies and risk ratings.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
