Woodard & Curran is offering an opportunity to join our Canton, Providence, or Andover office, providing high-quality wastewater engineering services to municipal and industrial clients nationwide. The successful candidate will be a motivated, growth-oriented professional who can lead multi-discipline project teams from the planning, concept, final design, construction phases, start-up, and operations of facilities. You will have staff to mentor and clients to support. You will have engineers to support you, and our fiscal solutions, O&M, and SCADA teams will help you deliver innovative client solutions.

Location: Providence, RI, Canton, MA or Andover, MA

Travel: Up to 20%

Who are we looking for:

You will primarily provide project management and engineering support on wastewater projects; however, experience with drinking water, reclaimed water, and stormwater applications is valuable. This position offers the opportunity to direct and collaborate with a team of junior staff while providing the ability to consistently work with mid and senior-level technical staff and leadership across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong technical and management experience in evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing wastewater systems and is experienced in engaging with client stakeholders such as operators, superintendents, and public officials to understand how to support their needs. Familiarity with a broad range of issues related to master planning, treatment, distribution, and collection systems is preferred. You will lead the delivery of multiple projects, must be familiar with local and federal regulations, and be able to support marketing and proposal efforts.

What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
    • Manage and execute work on wastewater design, planning, and construction projects by leading and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams within Woodard & Curran.
    • Determine the overall delivery approach for projects. Partner with senior leadership to develop technical approaches to larger projects.
    • Schedule and track project budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Utilize Woodard & Curran's Project Management Framework to execute all projects.
    • Conduct and coordinate QA/QC reviews on project deliverables to ensure Woodard & Curran technical excellence standards are met.
    • Collaborate with regional leaders, people leaders, and resource leaders on staffing projects.
    • Provide input on the development of Woodard & Curran design guidelines and standards.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations and training programs to internal and external clients and professional associations.
    • Support business development efforts under the direction of a client manager to provide engineering support and guidance to a range of clients.


What You Will Need To Succeed:
    • The successful candidate will have the technical and project delivery expertise in civil and environmental engineering and an in-depth understanding of the engineering concepts associated with all types of municipal water and wastewater systems, including wastewater treatment processes and collection systems.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with demonstrated strong project management skills
    • Well-versed in state and EPA regulations regarding wastewater treatment and collection systems.
    • Knowledgeable in state bidding laws and funding programs. Experience with Massachusetts Chapter 149 Bidding is preferred.
    • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations to stakeholders is a plus.
    • Experience with proposal writing and developing project scope, budget, and schedules
    • 8-15 years of consulting engineering experience.
    • A B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or an M.S. Degree is preferred.
    • Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts or Rhode Island (or ability to apply for reciprocity).


$140,000 - $155,000 a year

This position's anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
