What you would engage in:

Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. If continuing your career journey with us, you would be part of our Mining Environmental Group, based out our Vancouver office. The role of Geochemistry Lead comes with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule and will provide you with the opportunity to:
  • Apply your knowledge and experience in mining geochemistry to expand your Acid Rock Drainage and Metal Leaching (ARDML) knowledge
  • Manage projects, be part of multidisciplinary project teams, and mentor less experienced geoscientists and engineers
  • Lead and/or support geochemical/environmental field programs
  • Lead and/or support projects through the analysis of large geochemical data sets and development of insightful recommendations to optimize sustainable mining developments
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for developing the mining geochemistry business
  • Apply and contribute to leading research and emerging technology within the practice of mining geochemistry


What we require:

We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to support you as you build on it. We do however require:
  • A degree in geochemistry, geology, or hydrogeology: a master's degree is considered an asset
  • 10+ years of experience in applied combination of geochemical modelling, geochemical/environmental field work, analysis of large geochemical datasets
  • You must be eligible to register as professional engineer in Canada
  • A solid understanding of geochemistry, geology, and mineralogy
  • A general understanding of mining-related environmental issues, regulations, and policies
  • Experience in translating and presenting geochemical datasets in way that non-specialists can understand
  • Proficiency in geochemical software packages and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Geochemist's Workbench and PHREEQC)
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, decision-making and coaching skills
  • An ability to train and mentor young professionals
  • Passion for collaborating with clients and fostering long-term relationships
  • Enhanced communication skills, which should include experience in writing proposals, technical reports, and general project correspondence
  • Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements

  • A proven ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team


The salary for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
