Job Purpose:
As a Corporate Associate Attorney, you will support the management of the business and legal interests of our Corporate Legal Team. This opportunity is based in Norfolk, VA but has the option to be on-site or remote.

Essential Functions:
This is a deputy position that reports to the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer in the support of mergers and acquisitions, legal affairs and strategic initiatives across the following functions:
- Handle a diverse range of corporate and business matters including mergers and acquisitions, business and legal management and other sophisticated transactions.
- Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Provide strategic legal advice and counsel.
- Conduct legal research and analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve exceptional outcomes.
Competencies:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing corporate law, with a focus on M&A and sophisticated transactions.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services with attention to detail.
- Experience in a midsize or large law firm preferred.
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills as well as the flexibility and emotional intelligence needed.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, contracts for service, vendor contracts, and non-compete agreements.
Required education and experience:
- Bachelors Degree or higher.
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Candidates must be licensed to practice law in a US state with excellent academic credentials.
