Position SummaryThe Sonographer will perform basic and advanced obstetric and pelvic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, transvaginal ultrasounds, biophysical profiles, and umbilical doppler. We are offering

$3,000 sign-on bonus

for this position.ReportabilityThis position will report directly to the EVP of Medicine.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet patients, explain ultrasound procedures, and answer questionsSelect the appropriate machine and probe to be used to obtain diagnostic information requested by referring physician.Assist OB physicians in performing diagnostic Nuchal Translucency ultrasound procedures as well as training sonography technologists. Must remain current with and maintain all ARDMS regulations.Assist Obstetrician and other specialists in performing invasive procedures, i.e., amniocentesis and sonohysterograms.Produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by OB/GYN physician to render a medical diagnosis.Prepare initial diagnosis by identifying abnormal conditions for review by OB/GYN physician.Use ultrasound equipment and assist providers to conduct invasive procedures.Provide education to patients about procedures performed and communicate information as appropriate to patients as visualization of anatomy is seen on display screen.Recognize cross-sectional anatomy as demonstrated. Differentiate normal/abnormal structures and provide an assessment concerning pathology.Provide a preliminary report of sonography examinations for use by the interpreting physician.Maintain equipment and examination room, store film, and keep inventory of related supplies.Prepare patient information files with patient identification, date of exam, referring provider, and exam performed.Prepare and submit reports showing the number and type of examinations conducted.Perform other related duties as directed.QualificationsMinimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as an OB Ultrasound Sonographer preferred.Completion of an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical (ARDMS) accredited or equivalent program in ultrasound technology required. Must remain current with and maintain all ARDMS regulations.Graduation from an AMA (American Medical Association) approved program in diagnostic ultrasound technology preferred.High school diploma or GED certificate required. Current certification by ARDMS in abdomen and/or OB/GYN required.Preferred certification in Nuchal Translucency/1st trimester screening certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.Knowledgeable with ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures.Strong ability to follow procedures and protocols is essential.Experience and understanding of computers and software applications.Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Strong computer skills, ability to use basic office equipment.Must be organized with a strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, have strong attention to detail, and a strong ability to utilize time efficiently.Strong ability to act independently as well as be able to work effectively in a team.Must be responsible, attentive to details and have a desire to develop professionally.Must be self-motivated to increase their level of understanding and knowledge in their field with new procedures that evolve in the field of Women's Health and infertility.Language Requirement

- Ability to communicate effectively in English is required. English and Spanish proficiency or fluency preferred.Physical Demands

- Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.Work Environment

- Mostly in a typical office and/or home setting with quiet to moderate noise level. May be exposed to extreme cold, heat, and humidity due to outside weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially hazardous blood-borne/respiratory pathogens and bodily fluids which require the practice of Universal Precaution procedures. Opportunity to work a hybrid schedule - remotely & onsite, as needed.
