SUMMARY: Business Development Manager is responsible for leadership within their individual accounts while operating on a team to secure profitable work for the company. Business Development Manager is expected to continuously improve the strategies to retain and attract new customers. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Build client relationships. You will initiate new client contacts and develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to achieve selection for projects. Drive strategic growth objectives. Perform market research to identify, qualify and prioritize potential markets, projects, and customers. Develop strategies to meet these business goals. Collaborate with multiple teams. Partner effectively and efficiently with Operations, Estimating and Marketing to achieve business goals. This will require influence of stakeholders without authority. Managing existing sales funnel via Sales Force (Bowen's CRM). Provide timely and accurate key inputs (dates, dollar amounts, etc) for each opportunity. Take lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships Identify market trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline to pursue selected business targets Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies to achieve business goals Motivate the team, track performance, and report metrics at established rhythm meetings. Project development - provide technical and design support for the development of projects (conceptual through permit, bid, final design, and closeout including as-builts). Support proposal development including fee estimating, schedules, and writing of proposal letters along with coordination with the proposal team. Target potential customers, qualify and initiate contact, while developing the relationships needed to acquire their trust. Develop strategic account plans, perform sales calls and face-to-face meetings. Determine and assess a customer's needs versus wants, provide solutions, negotiate deals and bring sales to a close in a long-lead sales cycle environment. Maintain the current customer relationships at a favorable level which will lead to repeat business in the municipal market space. Prioritize your schedule to handle multiple customers at different points in the sales cycle while continuing the Bowen presence at an industry association level. Be able to work alongside other business developers in the same market while communicating day to day operations. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of industry experience as a Project Manager or Technical sales Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business degree Ability to move between the "The Big Picture and The Details", repeatedly. Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills, including the ability to develop and manage a financial budget, and focus on important- valuable efforts. Ability to blend Analytical skills, Strong creative ability and Social Functions. Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to articulate, vision and display a positive public speaking presence. Ability to self-motivate & self-direct efforts to achieve business goals. Computer skills necessary to accomplish job functions.
