Through primary care and multispecialty medical practices, the physicians and other health care professionals of NYPMG, in collaboration with ColumbiaDoctors and Weill Cornell Physicians, provide families with high quality, patient-centered care close to home in the New York metropolitan area.
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the management of care for a specified group of patients in accordance with mutually agreed upon protocols and within the policies and procedures established by the Department of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, and NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group (NYPMG).
Nurse Practitioner-Oncology works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to manage care for patients in an oncology setting. Works with a collaborative model to provide quality care and improve patient's outcomes by strengthening continuity of care in all settings for cancer patients, families and staff.
Responsibilities:Perform and document comprehensive medical and psychosocial health histories and examinationsGather data, conduct initial history and physical examination, and formulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicianOrder and interpret diagnostic studies related to the patient's plan of care and response to treatmentProvide follow-up care on an inpatient and outpatient basisInitiate consultation with specialists as indicatedRequired Criteria:
BSNMaster's Degree in specialty of practice or completed alternative certification requirements for graduates of nurse practitioner programs prior to April 1, 1989.Current NYS RN License.Current New York State License as Nurse Practitioner in area of practice.Preferred Criteria:
National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty of practice.1+ years of NP experience preferably in OncologyThis position is located at NYP/Westchester Hospital at 55 Palmer Ave, Bronxville, NY 10708. Variable day shift from 8am-6pm
