Accounting faculty must have knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to effective undergraduate and graduate teaching. They are also expected to have knowledge of ways to instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students and do the following:Provide instruction in the area of undergraduate and graduate accounting in online and face-to-face modalities
Work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, parents, and community members
Engage in personal scholarship and scholarship with students (where possible)
Advise students academically, spiritually, and socially
Participate in departmental activities and governance
Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties
Contribute to preparing students for their post-graduate career and finding who they are called to be
Required Qualifications:Master’s Degree with intent to pursue a Ph.D. or DBA
Commitment to teaching excellence
Commitment to ongoing professional activity and scholarship
An active and maturing faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to PLNU as an intentional Christian community in the Wesleyan tradition. This includes living in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant
Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. or DBA earned or in progress in accounting or a closely related area
Teaching experience at the undergraduate, graduate, and adult degree completion via multiple modalities
Evidence of effective teaching
Practical business experience
