About the Building Automation Programmer position:We are looking for a
Building Automation Programmer
to join our growing company. In this role you will be a key member of our business automation team and work directly with the facility team, architects, and engineers to design, review, and implement building automation projects for our commercial customers. We are looking for career-minded professional who wants to make an impact and grow in the role. The typical career path for new BAS Programmers at ModernControls is to partner with Senior BAS Programmers and evolve into a Senior BAS Programmer/Senior Field Technician.Day-to-day activities:INSTRUMENTATION (30%)Develop BAS and network architectures per client's RFQ's, project drawings and documentationDesign and propose controls hardware appropriate for a project based upon the aboveResearch and select a specific control system beneficial for the type of projectProvide technical support for BAS Support TechniciansInspect completed control enclosuresLead multiple project implementations with several different customersCoordinate and manage BAS Support Technicians regarding work associated with assigned projectsServe as a primary technical contact to management regarding projectsBAS DESIGN AND CONFIGURATION (50%)Participate in project design review meetingsCreate systems using project hardware and computersConfigure user interface and MMI screensConfigure BAS control algorithmsProvide custom BAS control algorithms as requiredExecute internal functional and quality control testingProvide BAS as-built documentation to BAS Support TechnicianPerform customer demonstrations and acceptance testingDevelop and implement project graphics and interfacesONSITE BAS STARTUP (20%)Work in a supervisor role or with a team at a customer siteWork effectively and efficiently with subcontractorsInstall project software and configuration onto site systemsProvide modifications/additions to site graphics as requiredPerform integration functions as requiredPerform point mappingPerform system commissioning via point-to-point loop checksPerform instrumentation and software calibration and tuningParticipate in functional tests of all systemsTroubleshoot installation discrepancies of new systemsProgram field modifications as requiredPerform troubleshooting/service for existing systemsAssist with developing commissioning test plans and documentation updatesAssist with developing training documentation/presentation on operations and maintenance of system requirementsRequirementsQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience3+ years of Building Automation (BAS) programming experienceStrong understanding of HVAC controls/equipmentAbility to read construction blueprints/documentsMicrosoft Platform; including Adobe Acrobat and VisioMust have valid driver's licensePreferred Knowledge/Skills and EducationBachelor/Associates degree in electronics or mechanical field or HVAC technology
