Job Summary:As a Front End Developer with a focus on accessibility, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining highly interactive and accessible visualization tools. You will use Raphael JS, SVG, and React to create data visualizations that adhere to WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards. You will work closely with our design and back-end teams to ensure our tools are both functional and accessible to all users.Key Responsibilities:Develop Accessible Visualizations: Create and maintain accessible data visualization tools using Raphael JS, SVG, and React components that comply with WCAG standards.Code Quality: Write clean, semantic, and accessible code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.Accessibility Testing: Implement and use automated and manual testing methods to identify and fix accessibility issues in visualization tools.Collaboration: Work with designers and UX experts to ensure that visualization tools are not only visually appealing but also accessible.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of accessibility practices and guidelines specific to visualization tools.Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest accessibility standards, technologies, and best practices, continually improving the accessibility of our visualization tools.Required Qualifications:Experience: 3+ years of experience in front-end development with a focus on building data visualization tools or work on complex.Technical Skills:Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.Experience with Raphael JS and SVG for creating complex visualizations.Strong understanding of WCAG standards and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Wave, Lighthouse).Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with user research and usability testing, specifically for data visualization.Familiarity with other data visualization libraries and frameworks.Contributions to open-source accessibility projects or participation in accessibility-focused communities.
