Job Description:Function of Position:Tenure-track faculty teach classes, develop new educational materials, assist with curriculum review and assessment, perform professional duties and participate in departmental and institutional functions, including department meetings and committee work. Tenure-track faculty report to the chairperson of the Health Professions Department. Academic departments are led by a peer who serves as a department chair for a three-year term. All tenure-track faculty are in the pool from which the chair is appointed. Faculty are responsible for preparing and teaching courses in the department and will be assigned at the Brighton Campus. The successful candidate will bring to our school a particular expertise in Radiologic Technology. In addition to teaching our foundation and upper-level courses in this area this tenure-track faculty member will develop new courses to expand our offerings in this area. We seek a candidate with interest in active collaboration with our college and department as well as our Radiologic Technology program.*This is a temporary position that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of college budget and performance reviews. This position is eligible for paid time off and benefits.Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledgeTeaches courses and evaluates student performance as per guidelines set by the department and Monroe Community CollegeTeaches multiple courses/sections each term, as outlined by the contractPrepares lesson plans and creates instructional materials and activities for student engagementPrepares Course Information Sheet/Syllabus/Outlines in accordance with department and College guidelinesEstablishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environmentMaintains student attendance records, grades, and other records according to department and College guidelines and submits them in a timely mannerMaintains office hours according to contractual guidelines in order to support student learningAdvises students concerning academic, career and related issues according to contractual guidelinesAssists department with student recruitment, enrollment, and placementAssists department with student retention and completion initiatives Assists with development, review, and revision of department curriculum, including assessment of student learning and program reviewDevelops innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learningIncorporates high-impact teaching practices into course designAttends department meetings as a contributing memberContributes to the College through Division, department, and College committeesActively engages in pedagogical and academic discipline professional developmentAssists department in faculty recruitment and peer evaluationAssists in the development of grant proposals and implementation of grant projectsWorks independently and in a team setting, demonstrating excellent time management skills to prioritize workflow and multi-taskPerforms other duties and responsibilities assigned by the department chair and may be assigned courses at any MCC campus or extension site location(Add department specific information)Adheres to the College Code of Conduct.Contributes to, supports, and maintains an equitable, inclusive, and collaborative College environment.Maintains technological competencies utilized by the College.Commits to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.Commits to professional growth. which includes seeking ongoing training in diversity, equity and inclusion to better serve students.Requirements:Required Qualifications:Earned Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution, with commitment to earnMaster's degree in related field within 4 years of hireCurrent NYS Radiologic Technology LicensureCurrent ARRT certification in Radiologic TechnologyAbility to teach courses within the departmentCommitment to supporting an inclusive campus environmentEvidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needsEvidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community collegeEvidence of proficiency with technologyCommitment to continued professional growthEvidence of effective communication (interpersonal, speaking, and writing) skillsHigh standards and integrityPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in related fieldTeaching experienceKnowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategiesAwareness of the potential value of technology as a tool for teachingExperience with computerized student record managementBilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages, proficiently
