SMX is seeking a Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) Liaison Officer (LNO) Subject Matter Expert (SME) in contracted aviation surveillance operations with extensive military operations and COCOM experience who will serve on a rotational basis as the Liaison Officer (LNO) to support mission planning in the area of responsibility (AOR), as well as act as unit Operations Superintendent at the deployed site.

This position requires a DoD Top Secret clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Please note this is a rotational deployment position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as BT-67 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) LNO to SOUTHCOM, JIATF-S, Pan Pacifico, Panama, and other contractors supporting the mission
  • Serve as BT-67 MPA LNO to JIATF-S with mission planning and ongoing BT-67 MPA operations
  • Use SME knowledge and skills to assess the current utilization of the BT-67 MPA system in the SOUTHCOM AOR, contribute to the employment of the BT-67 MPA and provide recommendations for optimization
  • Perform gap analysis of current operational use and operation capabilities of the BT-67 MPA mission sets
  • Perform LNO duties for deployed aircrew and manage COMSEC program

Required Skills & Experience
  • Required Clearance: Top Secret
  • Ability to work long duration rotational shifts (nominally 12 hours/day, 6 days/week) at Joint Inter-Agency Task Force, South (JIATF-S) Joint Operations Center (JOC) in Key West, FL, and operational deployed site, Pan Pacifico, Panama
  • 10+ years of military, aviation or law enforcement experience
  • Familiarity with radio use and classification
  • Familiarity with Military/Contractor Operations
  • Multi-tasker with ability to work with little or no guidance
  • SME in Contracted Surveillance Operations and Airspace who is familiar with BT-67 systems, capabilities, and limitations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Senior Officers, Joint Service and Interagency personnel and leadership at all levels

Desired Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of recent experience in COCOM AO with at least 12 months in the SOUTHCOM AOR
  • Familiarity with Common Operating Picture (COP) Software (Agile, Google Earth)
  • Background in Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) and Counter Narcotics (CN) operations
  • Experience working aviation operations activities/Operations Superintendent
  • Familiar with COMSEC handling & management
  • Targeting/Operations background
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree plus 4 years additional experience or High School degree plus 8 years additional experience
