ROLE SUMMARY
The Director of Philanthropy (DoP) will lead a team of 11 professionals in major gifts, institutional giving, planned giving, annual giving, membership, and special events. Reporting to the Managing Director, the DoP will work closely with the Artistic Director to enhance the fundraising strategy, focusing on major gifts and integrating philanthropy with the organization's programs and initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and grow a sophisticated fundraising program
- Develop a sustainable major gift-focused fundraising culture
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and Artistic Director on fundraising strategies
- Implement the Artistic Director's vision through philanthropic initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Broad-based philanthropy expertise
- Experience in capacity building and strategic facilitation
- Strong presentation and writing skills
- Previous success in growing philanthropy functions, preferably in an arts-related organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume artistic environment
