Overview

 

 

Prompt Care 

 

  • Perform patient assessment and assign diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and current research.
  • Establish plan of care and implement interventions in accordance with care paths, protocols, standards of care and current research.
  • Order and perform routine diagnostic procedures.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
  • Preform minor procedures and occasionally suturing independently 
  • Provide education and counseling to patients, families and groups.

Orthopedic Surgery

  • Work with an experienced adult trauma surgeon.
  • Provide follow-up consultations as well as preform injections. 
  • Be involved in specialties including but, not limited to: elbow, hand/wrist, shoulder, joint replacement, hip/pelvis, knee, orthopedic trauma and sports medicine. 
  • Make care decisions independently

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master’s degree or higher in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited program
  • Current Illinois license as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant
  • Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an APP in orthopedics, urgent care, or a related field is preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served
