Credit Dispute ExpertLos Angeles, CA Office | On-site roleAgoura Hills, CA Office | On-site roleJob DescriptionWestlake is looking for talented professionals to fill an open position as a Credit Dispute Expert. This position responds to Credit Disputes and ID Theft claims received through direct and indirect means from our consumers.ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and respond to direct and indirect (e-OSCAR) disputes according to department procedures and by department deadlines.Research and resolve ID Theft investigations per department procedures.Research and resolve credit bureau disputes per department procedures.Validate or update reporting of consumer debt in e-OSCAR using the AUD process.Provide written documentation to consumers, as evidence of how their accounts are reported, upon request (and per department procedures, using department letter templates)Retain evidence of the credit bureau dispute investigation, as required by FCRA.May be required to communicate with consumers and/or originators directly to obtain additional information to aid in credit dispute or ID Theft analyses.Works effectively as part of a team atmosphere to perform duties and achieve daily operational goals.Perform additional duties as needed within the department.QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED), College diploma preferred.2+ years of experience responding to Credit Disputes or conducting ID Theft investigations.Consumer Finance experience preferred but not required.Excellent understanding of Metro 2 reporting guidelines, the AUD process and the e-Oscar portal, per the CDIA guidelines and instructions from the CRAs.Possess good knowledge of credit reporting responsibilities as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.Ability to follow a standard path of resolution and determine when and if the standard path is not applicable to the current situation.
