Mott MacDonald is an international engineering firm that includes our groundwater control and design (GWCD) specialty team. Our GWCD hydrogeologists support a variety of Energy, Transportation, and Water sectors throughout North America. Our projects cover a broad range of hydrogeological activities including aquifer characterization, groundwater control and dewatering assessment and design, as well as hydrogeological impact assessments of major infrastructure schemes, such as tunnels, underground structures, and mines.You will work on a diverse range of projects, assisting the team with conceptual model development, groundwater and seepage modelling, aquifer test supervision and analysis, and providing groundwater characterization to various design teams. We will provide appropriate training and mentorship to assist you in your career journey in a way that best suits your skills and aspirations.Qualifications:MSc in hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering or similar discipline is preferred5+ years of experience in hydrogeology, engineering geology, or geotechnical engineeringDemonstrable experience with temporary and permanent dewatering assessment strongly preferredPossess or ability to obtain professional licensure in Canada or USAFamiliarity with hydrogeological software (e.g., Aqtesolv, AquiferTest, MODFLOW, SEEP/W)Familiarity with geological software (e.g., Surfer, gINT, OpenGround)Highly motivated self-starter with a professional attitudeStrong written and verbal communication, problem solving, and organizational skillsResponsibilities:Interpretation and analysis of complex subsurface geologic and hydrogeologic data to develop conceptual, analytical, and/or numerical groundwater models.Perform hydrogeological analysis, including assessment of seepage inflows, dewatering quantities and potential groundwater impacts associated with tunnels/underground structures.Design and installation of groundwater monitoring networks and pumping wells, including analysis of short and long-term aquifer testing, such as single well response tests and pumping tests.Development of porewater pressure profiles and groundwater seepage evaluations to support design of temporary and permanent underground structures.Salary Range: $87,000- $96,000Benefits: 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, STD/LTD disability, holiday, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance
