Intellectual Property Attorney

A law firm in Tampa, FL, is seeking a dedicated Intellectual Property Attorney with a strong technical background and a passion for intellectual property law. The ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct patentability searches and draft patent applications in mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering fields.Provide legal advice and counsel on intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.Manage intellectual property portfolios and assist clients in developing strategies to protect their IP assets.Conduct due diligence reviews and IP audits.Negotiate and draft IP agreements, licenses, and assignments.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer engineering.JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Qualified to take or planning to take the Patent Bar exam.Excellent academic credentials.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Passion for intellectual property law and a commitment to professional excellence.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.High level of attention to detail and organizational abilities.Team player mentality with the ability to build strong client relationships.Education and Certifications:JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer engineering.Qualified or planning to take the Patent Bar exam.Skills:Patent prosecution and drafting experience.Knowledge of trademark, copyright, and trade secret law.Legal research and writing proficiency.IP portfolio management and strategy development.Negotiation and contract drafting skills.
