One of the core teams responsible for delivering this customer experience is our Ecosystem Team.The Ecosystem Team focuses on realizing the potential of the home by integrating all devices to create deep and robust experiences. This position will specifically support the Smart Lighting Squad and the App Information Architecture Group. Your areas of ownership will include:Collaborating on lighting strategy with your product squadUnique experiences & Automation for lighting outside of core lighting controls experienceConducting up-front discovery to enhance lighting experiencesHelping define current and future roadmaps for smart lightingLighting settings, both in the app and on a hub displayAiding additional teams with high-priority projects, such as App Information ArchitectureTop ResponsibilitiesParticipating in discovery to help identify which problems to solveGoing wide on ideation and narrowing to validated solutions via testing and iterationOwning the design of end-to-end product experiences on the Vivint Smart Hub and DisplayCollaborating and communicating with your product development teamAdvocating for the user by using data, industry best practices, and your own expertise to enhance the Hub and Display experienceDesigning with the consideration of technical feasibility and product constraintsAdditional Responsibilities IncludeContributing to and maintaining the Vivint Design LibraryManaging an asset libraryDesigning for accessibility needsSurfacing issues proactively that could impact timelines or user experienceDesigning compelling experiences that will excite everyone who comes in contact with themCreating customer journey maps based on research in collaboration with your product squadMentoring more junior designers on your teamPrototyping and testing early and oftenDesigning and moderating your own research initiatives throughout the discovery and design processDefining success metrics to test your experiences againstFollowing up on launched products/experiences to determine if your product success metrics are being hitBeing accountable and highly communicative with your teamPrevious Experience/QualificationsProven ability to partner with Product and Engineering leaders & peers to deliver great experiencesWell-versed in a broad range of design methodologiesAn outstanding portfolio demonstrating the successful delivery of innovative interface design solutionsExperience presenting and rationalizing UX design strategy and decisions to diverse audiencesExperience with product discovery and researchExcellent visual design skills and attention to detailProven experience at all stages of the design processExperience with hardware is a plusYou'll fit in well ifYou are passionate about owning a product from start to finishYou put people first, ego lastYou’re not afraid to ask why a lotYou're comfortable with creating definitions from ambiguityYou are collaborativeYou are excited about the smart home space and are willing to think about innovative experiences without limitsYou have extreme empathy for both users and colleaguesYou’re genuinely excited to be a part of a team and are proactive about getting to know people and the products you work with
