Entry Level - Staff Accountant

Entry to mid-level Staff Accountant role for local commercial flooring Subcontractor. Main job responsibilities directly related to AP/AR, inventory, month-end close, and account reconciliations. This role requires critical thinking, attention to detail, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to meet assigned deadlines.
General Duties And ResponsibilitiesFull cycle AP functions: invoice coding, entry and payment.AR oversight: assist AR staff with billing, and collections.Month-end close: monthly journal entries, bank reconciliation, BS account reconciliations, inventory reconciliation, commission calculation, WIP, financial statement updates.Project closing, job cost entries and transfers.Insurance compliance requests for customers and subcontractors.Other duties as assigned.
Requirements1+ years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.Solid understanding of month-end close process.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.Ability to learn new software quickly.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Able to lift 20lbs.
Preferred ExperienceInventory reconciliation.Work In Process (WIP).Fixed Assets and Depreciation.Basic understanding of financial statements.Construction accounting (or related field); knowledge of contracts, CO’s, liens, prelims, and Releases.Insurance knowledge (GL, WC, Auto, etc.).
