THE ROLE

We are seeking a Staff Accountant for the Groot Hospitality division, a hospitality segment of the Live Nation live music business to assist in the preparation of financial statements, as well as assist in month, quarter, and year-end close procedures. The Staff Accountant will assist in other special projects as needed. This Position is a blend of transactional and entry-level Accounting. This person must be an initiative-taking individual with the ability to multitask within a high-paced environment.

What This Role Will Do

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of assigned Balance Sheet accounts, coordination, and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support, as necessary.Assist the month-end closing of the assigned JV and all reporting requirements.Assist Accounting Manager with account reconciliations or ad hoc requests.Prepare and enter month-end journal entries.Reconcile General Ledger accounts and research to ensure accuracy.Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures / policies, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.Substantiate financial transactions by analyzing documents and reviewing all restaurant comps and report any abuse.Prepares daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports and schedules.Maintenance of Shared Box Folder with all Show Settlements and Reporting Packages Assist with internal/external audit requests and special projects as assigned.Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.Scan, file, and log accounting documents in accordance with the company Record Retention Policy.

What This Person Will Bring

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance RequiredMinimum 3 years related work experience in public or corporate accountingFull Cycle Financial Close Experience RequiredKnowledge of U.S. GAAP RequiredBi-lingual Spanish required (Portuguese a plus)Experience working within, or cultural working knowledge, of HospitalityDetailed and deadline-oriented.Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skillsTeam playerAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them on a timely basis.Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to all aspects of job functionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsMulti-task orientedStrong analytical skills and organization skillsMust be proficient in Microsoft Office – specifically ExcelOracle and SAP experience a plus
