Stantec has an immediate need for a Senior NEPA Planner. The successful candidate will support a variety of infrastructure and energy projects across the East Coast. You will lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of projects, providing sound and reasonable planning advice and carrying out state and federal environmental review. Our variety of projects and clients is what keeps our work interesting and fulfilling, while being dedicated to serving our clients and our communities.Your Key ResponsibilitiesGuide the NEPA planning process and oversee all aspects of a project, including client contact, budget control and invoicing, schedule, personnel allocation/planning, public interest facilitation, technical approach, and subcontractor involvement.Coordinate with clients, regulatory/resource agencies, local governments.Manage technical studies and ecological resource assessments such as socio-economic analyses, wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and other natural resource surveys.Perform research, conduct environmental analyses (field and desktop), develop recommendations, and prepare technical reports under NEPA.Prepare NEPA documentation including environmental impact statements (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Categorical Exclusions (CEs).Provide quality assurance and quality control for all final products to ensure technical accurateness and regulatory compliance.Assist in the preparation of proposals and other marketing endeavors.QualificationsThorough understanding of technical environmental impact analysis methods and sound knowledge of NEPA requirements and related environmental regulationsTeam oriented with strong capability to motivate othersExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with experience presenting at public workshops and facilitating meetings with regulatory/resource agenciesDemonstrated experience managing multiple projects and ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goalsDemonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environmentMust demonstrate an ability in collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammatesMust be a highly motivated self-starterMust be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointTeam player with demonstrated ability to work well with others, to keep other team members aware of project and client needsMust have the ability to work in the field if necessary for long hours in all weather conditions.Must be able to travel as needed for project assignmentsMust have a good driving record and valid driver’s licenseEducation and ExperienceMinimum of Bachelor of Science in planning or related engineering/environmental discipline; Masters degree is desirable.Minimum of 10 years’ experience, which must include NEPA specific projects.This opportunity will involve working in a typical office environment with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather and work on the water.
