Software Engineers support computational systems architecture and system software for real-time simulation applications; create new and modified simulation models using established modeling techniques; and work closely with other engineering disciplines.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.This position is for a software team lead who is self-motivated and leads their team by exemplifying a positive approach, strong work ethic, and taking ownership and accountability for their work.Producing plans for execution of software tasks in support of program requirements within budget and schedule constraintsProviding accurate and timely status of budget, schedule, and technical issuesManaging software engineers assigned to the program, ensuring program milestones are met within cost and schedule constraints while maintaining focus on quality and customer needs. Coordinate with other program leadership to ensure appropriate engineers are assigned to the program.Supporting Other Program Leadership As Required.Managing all software tasks assigned to the program by planning tasking assignments, tracking tasks to closure, supporting software engineers on a day-to-day basis, and performing task decomposition as required.Ensuring all program requirements are met, program risks are identified and mitigated, and company processes are followed by the software team.Coordinating with other program leads to ensure program completes successfully.Work in a team environment, throughout the lifecycle of the program, using either Waterfall Or Agile MethodologiesQualifications And Education RequirementsBS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience requiredA minimum of 10 years Software engineering experienceExperience supporting military or defense programsAbility to apply sound engineering principles and develop innovative solutionsDemonstrated ability to design, develop, document, test and debug simulation software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutionsExcellent communication skills including oral, written, interpersonal, and listeningProven success in a fast-paced development environment and possess a willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressureAbility to provide and receive constructive criticismFlexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS)Active DoD Secret Clearance within a five-year investigation periodDue to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.Preferred SkillsExperience with continuous integration, automated testing frameworks, build management, artifact management preferredMS Windows Linux, Unix, Qt, DDS experienceExperience with Aerodynamics design and RF SystemsExperience with Flight Simulation and/or Radar SystemsFamiliarity with aircraft avionics 1553 protocol and simulator experienceExperience working in a production environmentKnowledge of different testing methodologies (e.g., White/Gray/Black box testing)Prior Military Experience Security ResponsibilitiesMust comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
