Responsibilities and Duties

The Senior Computer Vision Engineer will develop, refine, and deploy computer vision algorithms for aerial applications, and integrate these onto robotics platforms that range from small quadcopters to full-scale helicopters. Senior engineers provide technical leadership to guide projects through the complete lifecycle from conception through production, whether through leading teams or through subject matter expertise.

We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated independent thinkers, passionate about state-of-the-art technology; also self-starting, empathetic team players, and strong communicators. The ideal candidate for this position can multitask effectively, is comfortable working on a quick development tempo, and most importantly enjoys bringing new autonomy technology to life.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent10+ years' of industry experience in aerospace, robotics or autonomous flight domainsExpertise or specialization in computer vision or robotic perceptionExperience with real-time visual-inertial odometryExperience with IMU calibrationExperience with sensor configuration and data processing with RGB and IR cameras, lidar, and radar sensorsGood C++ design and programming skillsExperience with GPU target development using CUDAExperience with software benchmarking, optimization, and multi-threaded developmentFamiliarity with software engineering practices and software development life cycleFamiliarity with development in a Linux environmentPreferred Additional Skills

Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalentExperience with ROS or ROS2Experience with field testing of robotic systemsExperience designing modular, testable, and extensible C++ APIsExperience with Python or similar programming languagesExperience with MIPI camera integrationExperience leading teams and/or mentoring engineersProven ability to lead technical development on a project within schedule and budget constraints
