Research Technician I

The Research Technician I is a full-time position in the Corey lab to work with a faculty member, Staff Scientist, and laboratory staff. The lab works on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells for infectious diseases and cancers.Responsibilities:

Clone novel CARs and produce plasmid preparations.Produce and titer lentiviral vectors.Produce and test CAR T cells.Process blood samples and cr PBMC.Conduct other bench experiments to generate data. Techniques may include cloning, bacterial cultures, plasmid preparations, transfection, mammalian cell culture, lentiviral vector production, purification and titration, flow cytometry, live cell imaging assays.Search public databases and literature for conceptional and methodological information.Analyze data and organize professionally for laboratory meeting presentations.Ordering supplies, making reagents, maintenance of equipment, lab safety.Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in a biological science and some research experience or laboratory knowledge.Must have scientific knowledge in the area of study and basic laboratory skills.Independent research experience in addition to school lab experience is usually necessary.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.Ability to work as part of a team.Experience using Word and Excel.Experience with general methods in molecular biology and microbiology, especially the manipulation of DNA, PCR, and DNA sequence analysis is a plus.Experience with sterile technique is a plus.Experience with search techniques such as PubMed and BLAST.
