The Position

The ICMS Therapist works within an interdisciplinary team to provide intensive, wraparound, field-based clinical services to clients with a forensic dual-diagnosed background, to help them establish permanent supportive housing. The ICMS Therapist is responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans for clients in collaboration with clients’ treatment teams, and conducting individual and group sessions to assist clients with stability and recovery. The ICMS Therapist serves as a clinical expert on the treatment team. They are able to develop strong working relationships with clients and support them in making meaningful progress towards their individualized goals. This position reports to the ICMS Clinical Service Manager.Essential Functions

Provide intensive, wraparound, field-based clinical services to support client goalsActively engage clients in clinical services through the development of strong rapport, consistent contact and use of motivational interviewing. Provide service by meeting clients “where they are at” (service location, client’s point of view).Services provided aim to target symptom reduction and cornerstones of recovery-oriented care (instilling hope, empowerment, self-responsibility and engaging in meaningful roles). Ensure service delivery is consistent with ethical standards within a harm reduction, strength-based, trauma-informed framework.Clinical services include: assessments, diagnosing, treatment planning, as well as individual and group psychotherapy, rehabilitation, clinical case management, and crisis intervention.Engage and join with collaterals (family members, probation, court) as appropriate. Provide education related to mental health recovery to better support clients. Engage in client advocacy.Conduct urine analysis tests as indicated by a client’s treatment plan, if needed.Collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate client care:Actively contribute to planning and execution of interventions in collaboration with the treatment team to promote client care.Participate in coordinated interventions with other members of the treatment team, both in-office and in the field.Collaborate with external partners (i.e. probation/parole officers, court staff, LASD, residential substance treatment facilities, primary care clinics, etc) to ensure high quality, integrated care.Documentation and ReportingMaintain comprehensive case notes in the electronic health record per program guidelinesMaintain and submit billing records per program guidelinesParticipate in program data collection per program guidelines.Fulfill baseline Project 180 staff expectationsRegular attendance required. Holiday or weekend work may be required.Maintain and uphold Agency mission statement, values, policies, procedures, and principles.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Maintain active license and/or registrations as applicable (i.e. BBS, CCAPP)Skills and Abilities

Required:Master’s degree in social work or mental health field from an accredited college or university, and valid license or registration with licensing body (i.e. the BBS).Experience working with culturally diverse populations.Valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and own vehicle required. Ability to transport clients in personal vehicle as needed.Must not be on any type of legal supervision (probation or parole).Verification of Employment Eligibility and Background CheckBasic computer skillsPreferred:Lived experience with homelessness, mental health/substance use recovery or the criminal justice system.Experience working with the forensic and/or dual-diagnosed populations.Experience working on an interdisciplinary team in a mental health or hospital setting.Knowledge of and experience with providing trauma-informed services.Spanish-speakingPay Scale

$35.76-$39.34/hour
