Senior Backend Engineer - Platform

The JobAs a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines on AWS. You will work closely with other product teams to ensure efficient and reliable deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud applications.The ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain highly scalable and secure cloud-based services, promoting efficiency and self-service principlesWork closely with development teams and fellow platform engineers to address critical issuesDevelop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment, empowering engineering teamsProvide engineers visibility into their services via metrics, tracing, logs, and analyticsProvide guidance to engineers on how to best utilize our observability systems to gain confidence that their services are performing as expectedThe Requirements4+ years of experience in an Infrastructure/DevOps role in an AWS cloud environment4+ years of experience writing production code in either Golang or PythonUnderstanding of fundamental principles of object-oriented software design, development, and architecture is requiredUnderstanding of DevOps practices and experience working with CI/CD and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.)Experience in operating observability and logging systems at scale (ex. Datadog, Sentry, etc.)Preferred candidates will be located in EST timezone
