Outstanding Opportunity for Fellowship-Trained Pediatric Radiologist in MiamiNicklaus Children's Hospital, a 307-bed freestanding children's hospital and Level I trauma center, and Nicklaus Childrens Pediatric Specialists, the physician multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children's Health System, have an exceptional opportunity for a fellowship-trained BC/BE pediatric radiologist. Candidates with sub-specialty training in interventional and/or neuroradiology are preferred.The Department of Radiology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital has been serving the community since the hospitals inception in 1950 and features state-of-the-art ACR-accredited imaging equipment at the main hospital and offsite imaging centers, including 6 MRI (including 3T and intraoperative 1.5 T), dual source CT (Siemens FLASH), Siemens PET-CT, 2 dual-head nuclear cameras, 2 Siemens fluoroscopy units, 2 EOS imaging radiographic units, high-quality GE digital units, and 13 GE Logic 9 ultrasounds. A brand new, state-of-the-art interventional suite is currently under construction. The group is the largest in South Florida devoted exclusively to the practice of pediatric radiology with the only ACGME-accredited pediatric radiology fellowship program in South Florida. This group of 13.6 pediatric radiologists includes experts in neuroradiology, cardiac CT, fetal, interventional and musculoskeletal imaging. We are a collegial group that values work-life balance and has a mix of attending physicians, fellows and rotating radiology residents from Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami. Nighthawk coverage is provided at night. The position offers exposure to a mix of general and high acuity pediatric patients. The position also includes teaching and supervision of medical residents and provides opportunities to participate in research and publishing.Job Specific DutiesApplies knowledge of growth and development in customer interactions and treatment.Continues to actively self-educate (i.e., reading journals, CME credits, NCH conferences, etc.).Coordinates and/or develops and delivers monthly inservices to meet staff and resident development needs.Coordinates follow-up of tests, lab studies, and patient follow-up phone calls.Directly provides clinical services to patients including, but not limited to: performing and recording history and physical examinations, recording and interpreting pertinent patient data, developing and documenting a treatment plan, writing routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays and consultations, performing patient/parent teaching, assisting with patient follow-up, performing appropriate screenings, administering medications as required, ordering and/or performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by patient findings.Makes suggestions to Department Director and/or attending staff that may be beneficial to the improvement of the department.Participates in Performance Improvement, Research and Publishing.Participates in teaching of and is role model to medical students and residents.Participates in the call schedule as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum Job RequirementsDoctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical schoolCurrent state medical license and in good standing with medical boardAmerican Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExceptional clinical, research and teaching skills and have a commitment to academic pediatrics.Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families and co-workers.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.Ability to problem solve to formulate a plan of care and evaluate the patient's response to care.Ability to interpret, adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.
