Role:

Assistant Account Executives at Carmichael Lynch Relate are inquisitive self-starters who support the public relations team daily. This role is full of learning opportunities and will build on previous public relations roles or related communications field experience. You will have the chance to learn about client products, services and methods of operation and gain a working knowledge of their industry category, trends and issues that contribute to public relations planning and execution. You will have the opportunity to develop meaningful media relationships and craft creative pitches to capture the attention of journalists and secure coverage for your clients. You will also develop an understanding of influencer strategy and engagement and learn to vet, recruit, execute and measure influencer activity. You will work with a variety of team members and acquire new skills to support a productive PR team, build and foster successful client and team relationships, discover and master new PR tools, and take on new PR challenges. You will take ownership of some projects, assist on others, and support the broader team as directed by your supervisor and team leads.Job Requirements Focus:

Keep your writing skills and AP style knowledge front and center, staying on top of AP style updates or changes; craft media materials, including news releases, media alerts, media Q&A, media briefing books, key messages and bylined articles; with team assistance, develop program recaps, campaign award entries, client status reports, and moreDemonstrate interest and appreciation for media relations strategy and execution and showcase the ability to build comprehensive media lists with little to no supervisionDevelop and maintain strong media relationships for the agency; embrace the challenge of finding new and creative ways to pitch client products/stories/brands to pique media contacts' interest; pitch editors and reporters to generate earned media coverage in support of client media relations goalsProactively and accurately maintain media tracking and measurement documents in real time so PR teams have current and relevant numbers to report back to clientsDemonstrate interest and appreciation for influencer engagement strategy and execution and the platforms on which they are active; grow and maintain influencer contacts and assist with the development, execution and measurement of influencer programs, as directed by your supervisor or team leadMonitor and report client news, coverage and category trends effectively and in a timely manner; be a trend-spotter and research savant, helping inform best-in-class client work and PR programming with spot-on consumer insights and creative ideas.Demonstrate your ability to manage your time efficiently and identify, communicate and set achievable project deadlines, manage to those deadlines, and alert your team(s) when challenges arise; proactively communicate with your team regularly to share work updates and progress toward assigned task deadlinesShow and develop strong communication skills; interact and effectively collaborate with team members at all levels; hear and implement constructive feedback in real timeShow and develop strong remote employee skills; demonstrate your understanding of how to engage productively and be visually and verbally present during internal/external virtual client and team calls; demonstrate your understanding of how to ensure your supervisor and team members are aware of your workload, schedule and availability in a remote work environmentActively participate in team and client status meetings; manage account logistics including notetaking, meeting recaps, conference reports; oversee client product shipments and/or media mailers; maintain filing system (online and offline) to ensure organized, up-to-date documentation of client and team materialsLearn about the agency and its offerings, products and services and how to use all available agency tools and resources to your and your team's advantageAttributes and Skills Important to Your Success as an Assistant Account Executive:

Education: An associate or bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism or a closely related fieldSkills and experience: A minimum of 2 years of public relations or relevant professional work or internship experience in one of the following areas is preferred: prior agency, communications or media; solid writing skills; deadline-motivated.
