is seeking an experienced

Senior CAD Technician

to participate in survey projects throughout New York and New Jersey.The successful candidate will be an experienced and qualified CAD technician who will become an integral part of the survey CAD department working closely with professional land surveyors, project managers, and survey field crews. As a Survey CAD Technician, you will be assisting with the review and drafting of survey field notes and survey data. Experience working with topographic, utility, and laser scan survey data is required.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Providing CAD deliverables in various formats, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation in support of survey and engineering projectsUsing CAD software to analyze field data, record title documents, and produce survey-related mapping including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic and utility surveys, railroad surveys, plat maps, records of survey, as-built drawings, and other maps or exhibits.Interpreting field notes and sketches, assisting in downloading and processing conventional and GNSS field data as well as laser scan point cloud data.Researching boundary and easement record title documents and providing preliminary boundary analysis.Understanding survey and engineering calculations and providing instructions to field crews.Experience in the interpretation of engineering plans and construction documentsInteracting professionally and effectively with the clients and project managers on CAD-related issuesProviding ongoing CAD support to designers and CAD LeadsExperience and Requirements:Minimum 3 years of experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation is required.Experience working with scanned point cloud data is required.Experience with Bentley MicroStation is preferred.BIM and Revit experience a plusExperience with Aerial mapping a plusExperience with Leica field and office software a plusExperience with NYC and NYS Agency standards, including DDC, MTA, DEP, and DOT a plus.CAD related construction layout experience a plus.Must possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail.Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively under the pressure of deadlines.Self-starter with the ability to work independently.Strong leadership and supervisory skills.Matrix is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
