Moffatt & Nichol is actively seeking an entry-level drafter for one of our listed offices. This individual will draft and revise detail drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for use in planning, permitting, reports, and various construction documents. The firm provides clients worldwide with customized service and a level of excellence that has become the firm's hallmark in several primary practice areas - ports and harbors; coastal, environmental, and water resources; urban waterfronts and marinas; transportation, bridges, and rail; inspection and rehabilitation; and energy.Duties and responsibilities:Transform initial rough designs and mark-ups into finished working documents.Draft detailed drawings of structures and installations such as cargo terminals, marinas, wharfs, bulkhead walls, and coastal structures (beaches, revetments, breakwaters, and jetties).Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established standards.Compute volumes of excavations and fill for dredging and earthmoving projects.Assist designers and senior technicians with the preparation of engineering drawing packages.Qualifications:Associates Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline2 or more years of related experienceAutoCADMicroStationKnowledge of material propertiesUnderstanding and application of CAD standardsGood numeracy, geometry, and computer skillsUnderstanding of construction methodsMoffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hiresAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171Base salary range:

$31.64 to $38.67 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualifications in the job description. Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.Working conditions:
