Full-timeAs part of Operational Experience IS Portfolio, the Order Management group is responsible for developing core business applications that enable relentless management of customer order data to achieve superior supply chain execution leading to positive results for Expeditors and our customers.The Architect is responsible for driving shared architectural initiatives within the Operational Experience Portfolio in order to deliver business outcomes. The Architect is responsible to provide architectural and engineering clarity in support of business needs and systems operating environment. The Architect provides guidance and is responsible for aligning the technical work of the team, aligned with the enterprise strategic direction related to development and delivery of technology stacks, interoperability, APIs, and deployment strategies.Job Responsibilities:Collaborating with the OXP and Enterprise architects to contribute to, understand and support the strategic technical direction of the enterpriseDefining key technical initiatives that support Lean Budgets via Enabler EpicsHelping the OXP value streams adhere to the budget guardrails for retiring solutionsLeading the OXP strategy for building and maintaining the architectural runway for shared componentsUnderstanding and communicating Strategic Themes, and other key business drivers for architecture, to technical and nontechnical stakeholders within the OXP group.Driving architectural initiatives in the OXP Portfolio Kanban system and participating in epic analysis where applicableInfluencing common modeling, design, and coding practicesPromoting Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevSecOps capabilitiesCollecting, generating and analyzing innovative ideas and technologies to use across the businessFacilitating the reuse of code, components, and proven patternsSynchronizing the following disciplines across solutions whenever applicable: System and data security, quality production infrastructure, user experience (Lean UX), scalability, performance, and other Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs)Coach developers and identify training opportunitiesPrepare, manage, and coordinate breakdown of Enablers into ART or Team EnablersUnderstand the Architecture of all systems and address conflicting or divergent approachesCreate and implement strategies for technology adoption across the OXP PortfolioSupport engagement among portfolios with Solution and ARTs/TeamsThis position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSPersonal and professional alignment with Expeditors culture and ten critical success factorsProven experience as a technology leaderStrong leadership, communication, and execution capabilitiesExperienced problem solver, strong collaborator and able to provide clarity around complex topicsExperience with cloud native architecture and applications -Azure preferred but not requiredExperience designing and operating distributed microservice systems at scaleExperience with big data strategies and system designExperience with DevSecOpsAction and outcome driven leadershipAbility to actively inspire, coach, mentor and motivateAbility to promote autonomy, mastery and purpose, through empowerment and creating leadersBA/BS Computer Science, MIS, or related degree preferredExperience in a technical role such as systems/data/business analysis, project management, or software development (5 year minimum)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Lean, Agile and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)Global logistics/Supply chain business knowledge preferred
