Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support our Pentagon customer. Overall duties are but not limited to planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks. Support integration of Cyber capabilities with other DoD Services and other federal agencies/organizations required to implement national strategy, policy, and guidance.An Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required for this role.Responsibilities are but not limited to:Ensure that the organization’s SAP an/or SCI data and infrastructures are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls. Ensure physical environmental protection measures are coordinated with appropriate officials in accordance with Department of Defense Directives. Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization artifacts. Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need to know, and are provided security awareness training before granting access to information systems.Oversee the identifying and triggering of local incident response procedures to assess and cleanup classified message incidents and report to delegated authorities.Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization artifacts.Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the delegated authority prior to the change.Formally notify the delegated authority when changes occur that might affect system authorization(s).Collaboratively work with the information system owner, information system security engineer and information systems security managers on the risk assessment process.Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly.Ensure all information system security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individual.Ensure audit records are collected and reviewed in accordance with applicable Intelligence Community Directives. Coordinates all new SAP an/or SCI IT requirements.Attending required technical and security training (e.g. Operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties.Required
Qualifications (at a minimun):Bachelor’s degree in IT or Cybersecurity.Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityFour or more years of experience in Security and Information technology-related field involving Risk Management Framework (RMF) and defense Information Assurance (IA) processes.DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+CE [continuing education], Cisco Certified Network Associate [CCNA]-Security, and Global Information Assurance Certification [GIAC] Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional [GICSP]).Desired Qualifications:Master’s degree in IT or Cybersecurity.DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional [CISSP]). Additional Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) hardware (HW)/software (SW) certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Certified Lotus Professional (CLP), Certified Unicenter Systems Engineer (CUSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and Linux Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
