Back-end Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior Level)
to join our
Virtual Warfare Center
in
Berkeley, MO .This position will focus on developing prototypes and new capabilities for web-applications and services. You will design APIs, create data processing and analytics pipelines, optimize SQL queries, and build up production-ready infrastructure. In this backend developer position, you’ll be helping shape the architecture and infrastructure needed to make our prototypes and minimum-viable products production ready. Some examples of the work involved may include, but are not limited to: researching and selecting technologies and programming to use, building reliable and performant server applications using those technologies, and ensuring our applications can scale to support hundreds to thousands of users. If the applicant desires, this position can evolve into a full-stack role to also do frontend development.Position ResponsibilitiesMastering your craft and learning continuouslyWork with a team to shape the architecture of several server applicationsBuild new and expand on existing infrastructure for multi-application communications, logging, alerts, authentication, configuration, and moreCreate test-suites for server applications to verify reliability, performance, and behaviorWork collaboratively to make decisions that affect the entire systemInterface with users and developers to define and implement solutions to meet requirementsWork independently and with a team to prototype features and applicationsCommunicate effectively to push the team’s processes to best fit our needsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
