Senior Project Manager for Financial Management

Overview:We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who will support the California State Controller on a project management and governance support strategic project. The project will be to support the governance, project planning, project execution, and project implementation for the CA State Controller’s strategic priorities which include four work streams for People, Processes, Technology, and Infrastructure.Duties:The Senior PM for Financial Management shall be assigned to strategic priority sub-initiatives related to accounting and financial management.Mandatory Skills/ Experience:Bachelor’s Degree.Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Valid/current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).7+years’ project management experience, within the last 15 years working on projects for large government agencies (at least a $5 billion annual budget) with experience in process automation and customer service operations. At least 4 years of this experience must have been in a lead capacity.4+ years’ experience within the last 10 years in developing project management tools, templates and policies and procedures.Desirable Skills/ Experience:4+ years’ lead project management experience within the last 10 years7+ years’ project management experience on a large-scale public sector project (at least a $5 billion annual budget) within the last 10 yearsCurrent/valid qualifying certificates for:Prosci Change Management Practitioner or Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP)Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)Certified Scrum Master (CSM)Project Management Institute, Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)Project Management Institute, Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
