Job Purpose

The Big Data/Analytics intern will be assigned to assist a professional staff with development, setup and administration of Big Data clusters and Analytic applications in support of the business intelligence team, engineering teams and sales & marketing staff. The Intern will work under the direction of senior personnel managing the introduction of big data and analytics to business personnel. If you know the difference between spurious and non-spurious correlations, we want to talk to you!

Essential Duties

Technical discovery work on various tools supporting use of data sets imported from multiple sources including, but not limited to:IoT event dataDistributor dataEquipment utilizationMarket IntelligenceCRM and Marketing Campaign DataIntern will work with business personnel on use of these tools to derive business value from data sets.Intern will develop and integrate time series and predictive models to answer key business questions.Work with end users, systems analysts, and developers to capture and document business requirements.Research software functionality and make recommendations on its applicability to Graco.Develop documentation to detail the development, logic and testing processes.Develop and document system processes and procedures and IT standards.Position Requirements

One year completed towards Masters Degree in Data Science, Statistics, or related field.Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.Basic understanding of Hadoop, Tableau and Alteryx and associated techniques such as data wrangling, graphical presentation, and predictive analytics/statistics.Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Exercises excellent judgment and initiative in handling business issues of significance to the company.Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical personnel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.Strong team player with the interpersonal skills to work effectively with end-users and co-workers.Able to organize and prioritize work assignments while handling multiple tasks and deadlines.Power to Be
