We are seeking a talented Lead Artist that specializes in Characters to join our Los Angeles team.The Magnopus studios design and build cross-reality projects for global companies. From an immersive concert experience for Sony Music to the first-ever interactive content for Disney+, we’re proud to make visions into realities for people all over the world.Join us in creating great content connecting the physical and digital worlds together and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.The compensation band for this role falls between $110,000 - $160,000 USD annually. Salaries offered are based on candidate experience, internal equity, and the level at which they are hired.Responsibilities

Contribute high-quality character work within the context of the projectCollaborate with other artists and cross-functional teams to provide insights on solutions, project planning, and decision-makingWork with leads, managers, and senior specialists to manage and prioritize solutions and deliverables, meeting creative and quality goalsRequirements

Experience creating digital humans for photoreal contextsExperience using Metahuman Creator, exporting the character into Unreal for further work, and driving the motion of that character using performance capture or animation state machinesExperience with Maya, Substance, ZBrush, or Unreal to model, texture, and LookDev charactersIntricate knowledge of Physically Based Rendering (PBR) principles and their application in digital humansUnderstanding of body and facial rigging standards and workflows, especially for use in real-time engines and the Metahuman platformExperience working with both cloth sims and hair grooms in a real-time contextNice to haves

Ability to create concept drawings and paintoversExperience lighting in Unreal or UnityScripting Knowledge (C++ / Javascript / Python)Visual Effects experience (Renderman, Nuke, VRAY, etc)Animation/Rigging ExperienceMemory & performance optimization for real-time
