Job Title: Wireless Network Engineer Location: Onsite/Hybrid (3 days per week) - San Diego, CA Job Description: We are seeking a Wireless Network Engineer with a strong passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. This role is pivotal in contributing to a WiFi6 rollout, handling LAN refreshes, switch swaps, and creating network dashboards. The Engineer will work closely with Network Architects, Operations Engineers, and senior leadership to provide exceptional customer service to the business. Responsibilities: Daily Network Support: Provide comprehensive support for LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Network Trading Infrastructures, including monitoring, administering, and troubleshooting to maximize network availability. Network Performance Monitoring: Assess and recommend improvements by monitoring network performance and performing capacity planning. Project and BAU Tasks: Complete project tasks, milestones, and business-as-usual work as a member of the Network Operations team. Incident Management: Create written Root Cause Analysis documents for network outages and incidents when necessary. Problem Resolution: Resolve incidents, problems, and change requests in accordance with service-level agreements (SLAs) and within approved maintenance windows. Troubleshooting Skills: Apply strong analytical network troubleshooting skills and use packet capture tools proficiently. Migrations and Upgrades: Perform complex migrations/upgrades and deploy new technologies/features as the network environment evolves. Documentation: Develop professional diagrams and illustrations of network infrastructure and ensure operational documentation is completed and shared within the Network Systems group. Process Improvement: Utilize company resources to enhance processes and procedures for the team. Research and Compliance: Stay updated with industry trends and ensure familiarity with firm laws and regulations. Meetings and Networking: Assist with preparing information and research materials for review, and attend meetings, events, and networking opportunities. Disaster Recovery and Incident Response: Apply fundamentals in disaster recovery, change management, logging, alerting, and incident response. Qualifications: Education: 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or relevant experience/certifications. Experience: 8 years of experience providing Network Engineering support. WiFi6 Rollout: Proven experience managing a WiFi6 rollout. Customer Relationships: 5 years of experience building and managing relationships with senior technical customers. Firewall Support: 5 years of experience supporting Cisco ASA/Palo Alto Firewalls. Load Balancers: 5 years of experience supporting F5 Load Balancers. Cloud Infrastructure: 3 years of experience supporting cloud-based network infrastructure (Azure/AWS). Multicast Support: 3 years of experience supporting multicast (IGMP, PIM, RP). Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, etc. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with technologies such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, QoS, PBR, VSS, HSRP, STP, and WAN Optimization technologies. Cisco ISE: Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco ISE in an enterprise environment. Switching Experience: Experience supporting Arista and Cisco switching (Catalyst/Nexus). SD-WAN Solutions: Operational experience with SD-WAN solutions is a plus. Cisco Meraki: Operational experience with Cisco Meraki (Wireless) is a plus. Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, team-oriented environment.
