Billing Manager - Chicago Law Firm - Hybrid - $130-170k
The Billing Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of our large law firm client. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the billing process, from managing staff and workflows to ensuring accurate and timely client invoices. This position requires a strong understanding of legal billing principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the billing department, including staff training, performance evaluation, and workload distribution.Develop and implement efficient billing processes to ensure timely and accurate invoice generation.Review attorney timesheets and ensure compliance with billing guidelines and client agreements.Prepare and finalize client invoices, adhering to ethical and legal standards.Manage client communications regarding billing inquiries and potential disputes.Oversee the accounts receivable process, including collections efforts and delinquency prevention.Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Maintain strong working relationships with attorneys, paralegals, and other departments.Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and ethical billing regulations.Stay up-to-date on the latest legal billing software and technologies.Qualifications:Minimum 5-7 years of experience in legal billing management, preferably in a large law firm environment.Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field (preferred).Proven track record of successfully managing and leading a billing team.In-depth knowledge of legal billing principles and ethical guidelines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Proficiency in legal billing software (Aderant, Elite or 3E preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional client service.To apply, please send your resume and references to durban@libertyjobs.comLiberty Personnel Services, Inc.300 Conshohocken State Road, Suite 750
