CurriculumWe want someone who can implement the curriculum with fidelity. We don't necesarily need deep experience in engineering - but you do have to be a great facilitator!Teachers report to the Director of Academics and provide instruction in content areas.QualificationsCertification in relevant fieldBachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with a concentration in a content areaSecondary classroom experience in an urban context (three years preferred)Solid and demonstrable teaching experience working with a variety of student academic levelsCreative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learningExhibits the ability to collaboratively work within and across disciplines with a diverse instructional teamExperience working with parents and communityExcellent interpersonal communication skills, classroom management, and adaptive teachingGrowth minded, receiving and incorporating feedback from team leaders, executive leadership and peersKey ResponsibilitiesInstructional Planning and ImplementationWrite a cohesive lesson plan and unit plansUses student data to drive instructional decisionsDevelops and implements assessments aligned to GGA curriculum standards including formative and summative assessmentsContributes to interdisciplinary curriculum planning and development including finding ways to connect the content to students local and global perspectivesLearning and DevelopmentPlans and teaches lessons using inquiry-based approaches to teaching and learningUses a wide range of technologies and strategies to differentiate instruction based on readiness, learning difference, and interestKeeps up-to-date records of attendance and assessments in PowerSchoolSchool Community EngagementFosters positive relationships with studentsDevelops regular communication protocols with parentsDelivers thoughtful guidance and support with advisory groupsEngages professionally and enthusiastically with new school initiativesParticipate in weekly and month professional development programs
